Did you know...
that in Germany if you find an empty parking spot on the street and your passenger jumps out to stand in the spot while you turn around to drive to the spot, it is legal for another car to come and slowly drive into the parking spot, making contact with the human standing in the spot and pushing him/her out of the way with the car? There have been court cases regarding exactly this, and the person pushing the other person out of the way in the car won.

Really? I would not trust to such a decision in a potential own case. Could you let us know the court and the file number to study the details of the proceedings?
Hello Anonymous,
First of all, I don't intend this site to be any kind of legal advice for anyone, and I myself would also not try this action of slowly driving into a human to free up a parking space. This is a report of something read in the newspaper regarding a court case involving just this event, as well as some information I have heard from others on various occasions. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a case number for this particular case, nor do I have any other supporting information or works that I can cite! So please don't try this at home! I just found it to be a funny anecdote, considering that on the very day I wrote this, I jumped out of the car to reserve a parking spot on a street where you didn't need to put money in a meter while my friendly driver quickly turned the car around. Other cars did drive past and eye the spot, but fortunately no one tried to push me out of the way using their vehicle!
